Completing the scavenger hunt for Big Gay Al's missing felines is one of the most entertaining side activities in South Park: The Fractured But Whole. To successfully track down and secure all six of these stylish pets, players must combine exploration with specific exploration abilities. Gathering the entire group requires utilizing the Timefart Pause mechanic alongside standard environmental interactions to prevent the cats from running away.

Prerequisites and Starting the Scavenger Hunt

Before embarking on this neighborhood rescue mission, you must complete the main story quest titled Medicinal Fried Fiasco. This unlocks the essential Timefart Pause ability, which stops the environment around you for a brief moment. Without this power, the missing felines will instantly spook and vanish into hiding whenever your character approaches their vicinity.

The tracking activity officially opens up on the second day of the campaign when you speak with Big Gay Al outside his home. Alternatively, rescuing any of the runaway pets prior to this conversation will automatically trigger the mission log. If a target manages to flee because you missed your timing window, utilizing the Timefart Glitch function will immediately reset the creature back to its starting coordinate.

Locating the Neighborhood Tree Cats

Three of the missing animals have climbed high up into the local flora and require a two-step extraction strategy. Big Gay Kirby is perched outside Bebe's house, while Big Gay Bono resides near the fast travel station located just outside the church. For both situations, you must target the weak branches with a well-aimed Snap N Pop firecracker to safely bring them down.

As soon as the pet hits the snowy ground, instantly activate your time-stopping power before the creature recovers from its fall. This gives you a brief window to safely walk up and secure them into your inventory. The final tree-dweller, Big Gay Bogie, is found past Memberberry Farms, but you must first use a time freeze to slide a heavy basket in front of the local farmer blocking the northern pathway.

Rescuing the Ground Level Runaways

The remaining three pets are hidden in open urban zones across the map and require careful positioning before you approach. Big Gay Loki is resting near a tool chest located directly to the right side of the South Park Mall construction zone. To grab this one safely, stand a short distance away, activate the freeze power, and run forward before the effect dissipates.

Big Gay Shadow can be spotted relaxing in the snow within the open pathway between Main Street and the local playground. Approach slowly and execute the freeze power the moment the feline begins its jumping animation to snatch it clean out of the air. Finally, Big Gay Blossom is found resting on an upper wooden plank within the complex SoDoSoPa ruins.

Claiming Your Scavenger Hunt Rewards

Unlike the other runaways, Blossom does not get startled by your presence, meaning you can grab the pet directly without using any stopping mechanics. You will simply need to utilize the Fartkour companion ability a couple of times to navigate up the ruined infrastructure. Once all six companions are accounted for, return to the quest giver's residence to wrap up the storyline.

Handing over the complete group prompts a final conversation where you receive the specialized Feline Costume Set and Snowcat Costume Set cosmetic options. The quest concludes by unlocking a mandatory social media photo opportunity, allowing you to snap an official character selfie with Big Gay Al and Mr. Slave.
